DJ put the music on! A tutorial on how to put your favorite music in STEPS! Lets check it out
We all know as a dancing game enthusiast there will be times on how you wish to put your own choice of songs inside the game. We'll your in luck! Compared to other dancing game. STEPS Evolution gives you the freedom to put your favorite song and play with it! Really? Well yeah it's working since we expand to STEPS Evolution. It's just that the software is still not translated into english but that doesn't mean our STEPS players will stop for that reason! if there's a will there's a way and due to insistent public demand. We will teach you a simple step by step on how to spin the disc!
NOTE:
- This will only work for Arrow Key's or Normal Modes
- We do not encourage sharing of your Music Files for integrity purposes.
- Strictly for personal use.
PART 1: CONVERTING YOUR MUSIC FILE TO RWM
RWM (Rewu Music)music file is the only music file readable and specially designed for our game.
STEP 1: You need the EventEditor Software courtesy of STEPS Developer. Perfect World. You can publicly download it in Chinese STEPS website (Hot Dance Party) or to make it easier. Go get it here.
STEP 2: Extract the files in a clean folder, name it to "EventEditor" or something at least a 1 word name to lessen the complications. After that open the EventEditorUr.exe and a window like this will appear.
STEP 3: Once you are in this window *points at the screenshot above* All you need to do is to press CTRL + M
STEP 4: A file browser window will appear and it will point you into "C:\EvenEditor\Rename\MyMusics\Musics" As you can see in the screenshot. The software will search for the music that you want.
For example i want to put "MBLAQ's - I dont know". You need to make sure that you have a music file for that song in VORBIS or OGG Format.
The software only accepts OGG music file so convert your music files to OGG somewhere, Its your quest on how to produce your music file!
The software will only check music files in "C:\EvenEditor\Rename\MyMusics\Musics" just for you to know.
STEP 5: A composition window will appear. As you can see in the picture above. The BPM field displays the original BPM of the song. The artist and the song title is SELF-Explanatory.
Additional Field:
The one beside the BPM field with a number is the seconds signifying the appearance of the arrow keys in the game. You can leave it as it is or put a number.
A number signifies seconds. For example you put "7" Then you will have to wait for 7 seconds after the song is played for the arrow keys to appear.
The one below the title is Remarks.
If everything else is okay then click the Save button.
STEP 6: Once you click okay from the previous STEP. Press CTRL + S to save it. Put the proper file name and were done converting your music file to STEPS Dance World Music or .rwm.
PART 2: PLAY WITH YOUR OWN SONG.
STEP 1: Locate your saved .rwm music file in "C:\EvenEditor\Rename\MyMusics"
STEP 2: Copy and paste it inside your STEPS Evolution root folder "C:\STEPS\element\MyMusics"
STEP 3: Log in to the game and create a room. In creating a room, do not forget to tick the self compose circle and select your song from the list box that will appear.
STEP 4: When selecting a music. You will notice that your song is included to the My Compose tab. Select it and we're ready to go!
Keep in mind that this music will only work for you.
The song will work for other players if they have exactly the same music file..
It is best to wait for STEPS new song official update so everyone can enjoy the musics.
